Apple was not very busy this week, but it has been contentious when it dragged other smartphone makers into the antenna mess the iPhone manufacturer is in. Of course this makes other smartphone makers frustrated.
Also the white iPhone 4 launch has been postponed again. On the other hand, Apple reported record results this quarter.
Apple reported a record quarter in earnings, having tremendous Mac, iPhone and iPad sales. The company sold almost equal numbers of units of iPads and Macs during the third fiscal quarter. Apple CEO Steve Jobs singled out competitors for having their own antenna-related signal attenuation problems during a press conference.
Testing reports pertaining to Apple's Magic Trackpad device completed in October of last year were released to the public by the FCC. Colleges and universities begin programs designed to evaluate the iPad's effectiveness in academic environments.
The white iPhone 4 launch has been pushed again from late June to 'later this year'.
And finally, Apple earned another accolade: it became responsible for the largest number of security flaws in the first half of 2010, knocking Oracle off the top spot. Microsoft is in third place.
