Apple announced on Monday that it will launch the iPhone 4 in 17 more countries on July 30. The new countries on Apple's list will then include Australia, Canada and Switzerland.
There are presently five countries where the iPhone 4 is on sale: the U.S., the U.K., Germany, France and Japan. Others in the July 30 list are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain and Sweden. No pricing information has been released yet for these countries.
Apple first released information about its international selling plan for the iPhone 4 in June during the annual Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple CEO Steve Jobs said the iPhone 4 release in South Korea has been delayed for unspecified reasons but did not explain why.
Twenty-four more countries will have the iPhone 4 by August and Apple hopes to reach 88 countries by the end of September. Apple's iPhone 4 is indeed turning into a worldwide phenomenon!
